Monochloro Acetic Acid is used in the manufacture of C.M.C, S.C.M.C & S.M.C.A, sequestering agents like E.D.T.A. Heribicides like 2, 4-D (2,4 Dichloro phenoxy Acetic Acid) and 2-4-3 (Trichloro Phenoxy acetic acid) etc., Insecticides such as Butachlor, Dimenthoate technical etc., Pharmaceuticals such as Ibuprufen, Thiophyline, Aminophylline (bulk drugs) and other like Pyridoxine etc. It is also used in manufacture of Isopropyl, Ethyl and Methyl Chloroacetates and dyes (indigo).
